Tell us about your role and your main focus
I’m a senior surveyor undertaking pre-purchase surveys on all types of residential property, and my work involves the preparation of reports and liaising with clients.

What key skills or experience specifically make you shine?
Prior to graduating with a degree in building conservation, I gained valuable practical and technical experience working in the construction and building preservation industries at craft and professional level, which has provided me with a very particular set of surveying skills.

What’s the best thing about your job?
Having all areas access to inspect amazing period and contemporary properties, often set in stunning locations. What’s not to like?! I get a sense of satisfaction providing clear and concise reports to clients to enable them to make informed decisions about their purchase.

What’s the biggest challenge in your work?
Historic and contemporary buildings can be complex and often throw up some unexpected issues which can be challenging to diagnose. Every building is different. Every day is a school day!

What does your perfect weekend look like?
I love nature and being active outdoors. Ideally, I’ll be off hiking, mountain biking, or a trail running, preferably ending up in a cosy pub! Having ridden motorbikes on and off road from a young age, I’m happiest off on a two wheeled adventure.
