Tell us about your role and your main focus
I create connections that drive company growth, preparing the ground for new opportunities, which involves everything from organising networking events and managing our database to contributing to our website and company magazine. This ensures our team is perfectly positioned when I’m out meeting new people and building relationships.

What key skills or experience specifically make you shine?
I believe a talent for sales is in my genes, inherited from my dad, who could talk to anyone. This makes me a natural communicator. I’ve honed my ability to build strong, lasting relationships. I find it easy to connect with people from all walks of life.

What’s the best thing about your job?
The excitement of never knowing who I am going to meet next. I thrive on the energy of new conversations and building a rapport with potential referrers. Over the years, many of these professional connections have grown into cherished friendships.

What’s the biggest challenge in your work?
That initial nerve-wracking feeling before meeting someone new. Pushing past that moment of uncertainty is always a test of confidence. However, it’s that very challenge that makes the successful connections so rewarding.

What do you think makes Desbruslais a great company to be part of?
Desbruslais is built on trust – we are all trusted to represent the brand with passion and integrity. This empowers me to build genuine, lasting relationships rather than just chasing the next target. It’s a culture that breeds success and loyalty, which is why I’ve been here for over a decade.

What does your perfect weekend look like?
After living everywhere from Cornwall to Tasmania, my perfect weekend is about happily putting down roots. It involves getting my hands dirty in the garden, followed by plotting a much smaller adventure. That could be anything from exploring a local walking trail to finding the perfect country pub.
